Frequently Asked Questions
What is FastTrack and how does it work?
FastTrack is a GPS-based acceleration timer for iOS that measures your 0-60 mph, 0-100 mph, quarter-mile, and half-mile times using your iPhone's GPS and accelerometer. Mount your phone, select your vehicle, and go — the app detects your launch automatically and records your time with no button press.
Is FastTrack free?
Yes. FastTrack is completely free to download and use. All timing modes, garage management, community features, leaderboards, and groups are included at no cost.
How accurate is FastTrack compared to a Dragy or RaceBox?
FastTrack produces 0-60 times within ±0.02 to ±0.04 seconds — inside the accuracy range of a standard Dragy and within hundredths of flagship hardware like the Dragy Pro and RaceBox. It fuses GPS Doppler velocity with the iPhone's 100Hz accelerometer using the same class of sensor-fusion math that flew on Apollo 11. Dedicated devices still have an edge in weak-signal environments thanks to roof-mounted antennas.
Do I need any extra hardware or accessories?
No. FastTrack runs entirely on your iPhone's built-in GPS and accelerometer. A phone mount is recommended for safety, but no external devices, OBD adapters, or Bluetooth accessories are required.
Is FastTrack available on Android?
FastTrack is currently available on iOS only. An Android version is not available at this time.
Can I track modifications and see how they affect my times?
Yes. The Garage lets you log modifications across 10 categories including engine, forced induction, suspension, and drivetrain. Each mod is timestamped, so you can compare your run history before and after upgrades to see exactly what difference they made.
How do leaderboards work?
Leaderboards rank all FastTrack users by their best GPS-verified times across 0-60, 0-100, quarter-mile, and half-mile. Only runs recorded through the app count — no manual entries. You can also view a friends-only leaderboard to compete within your crew.
What is the FastTrack Marketplace?
A peer-to-peer parts marketplace built into the app. List parts for sale, post Want to Buy requests, browse listings from other enthusiasts, and make offers — all with secure payments through Stripe. Sellers have profiles with ratings and reviews, and the app handles shipping, delivery confirmation, and dispute resolution.
